Covington – Mrs. Hallie Day, 56, died at 3 a.m. Thursday at her home here following an extended illness. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Day was born in Parke County Aug 31, 1889, daughter of Elwood H. and Piety Commons Towell. She leaves her husband, Ora E. Day, two sisters, Mrs. Hester Heath, Mooresville and Mrs. Carrie Harding, Indianapolis; two brothers, Dennis Towell, Kingman and Horace Towell, Covington. – d 8 Nov 1945
